The short answer
BPC-157 and TB-500 are prohibited at all times by the World Anti-Doping Agency’s current list, as of September 2026.
Know which list you are checking
The World Anti-Doping Agency, often shortened to WADA, publishes a list of prohibited substances for world sport.
College sport in the United States has a separate NCAA list; its list for the 2026–27 year names BPC-157 and TB-500.
NCAA means National Collegiate Athletic Association.
Ask the organisation responsible for your eligibility which list and process apply. Keep the exact product name in that question.
A new list may already be published
As of September 2026, WADA had published its next list, but it does not take effect until January 2027.
Its addition of peptides as an example does not mean every approved peptide medicine is prohibited.
Read the list that applies at the time of the decision. Ask for clarification rather than inferring a result from a broad word such as peptide.
Ask about the exemption process
A therapeutic use exemption is permission to use a prohibited medicine for a medical need under the sport’s exemption rules.
The United States Anti-Doping Agency describes an application process; an application is not the same as having permission.
- Which body decides my eligibility?
- What exact ingredient needs checking?
- Would an exemption be required in advance?
- Who can confirm the answer in writing?
Carry this forward
Check the actual ingredient with the body responsible for your eligibility.
